Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Ferdie is one of our hoarding dogs, saved from a very bad situation.  He has done exceptionally well adjusting to his new life in rescue!  He is a snuggle bug and likes to be next to you on the couch, preferably under a blanket. He acts a bit uncomfortable when his humans aren't sitting down snuggling with him, but he's getting better each day. He is fully house trained!  He can be a flight risk since living in a normal home environment is totally new to him so he needs to be supervised at all time while outside or when exterior doors are opened.  He is very affectionate and prefers to sleep in a human bed at night and will curl right up next to you and want to be held. He will accept having a leash put on him, but is nervous at first.  Right now he requires a lot of patience to get him to go inside his crate, but his foster is working with him, and he's starting to become less nervous and skittish. Since he is so lovable though and enjoys interacting with humans, he should start to trust that we are not here to hurt him, and when he is being "confined" either on leash or in a crate, it is not going to be forever.  He has a little ways to go to become a more outgoing less fearful family pet, but we're confident he will get there in no time.
