Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

Oh. My. Gosh. Y'ALL. We need to tell you about the absolute best pup! Introducing Quincy, the cutest dachshund mix we've ever met. Our best guess is that he's a dachsador (or is it a labrashund?), aka a dachshund and labrador mix. In other words, he loves to burrow under blankets and snuggle in laps, and he also loves squishy stuffed toys and giving as many kisses as he can, so you get the best of both worlds! He's got short little legs and an oversized head, all in an adorable package that's less than 20 pounds! He's fully potty trained, crate trained, and takes direction extremely well.

Quincy has a good amount of energy and gets extremely excited when his foster parents come home. He's been working on not jumping and instead sitting calmly for pets. We think he would do great with slightly older children, since younger ones he might accidentally knock over. He loves going for walks, and is fantastic about walking calmly on a loose leash. But other than walk times and the occasional zoomies, he's a total couch potato and always ends up sleeping in the funniest positions (usually on his back with his feet in the air).

Quincy has been great with all other dogs he's met other than puppies (he's just not a fan of the couple of puppies he's met, but we don't blame him with how much energy puppies have!). He hasn't had the opportunity to meet any cats yet, so we're not sure how he would do. He loves to play with toys, and especially to hold stuffed toys in his mouth and show them off. He's also been fantastic when his bratty foster fur sister has stolen toys literally out of his mouth, and will just go grab another toy instead. He also happily goes into his kennel whenever his foster parents need to leave the house and at bedtime, and quietly stays until it's time to come out. Quincy is a bit of a velcro dog with his foster mom, and has warmed up to his foster dad.
