Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted.  We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.

What a great dog!

Gemma is an adorable, bright, enthusiastic, friendly, and loyal companion ready to join your family! She loves her foster parents and foster brothers but is 100% ready to find her forever home. She wishes her foster brothers (older doxies) wanted to play a little more, but after a couple of minutes of zoomies, she’s an expert snuggler who would love to spend the day on the couch with you. She’s into toys with squeakers, face kisses, snacks, long walks on the beach, and pina coladas.

Gemma bonded to her foster mom quickly and had a bit of separation anxiety at first but has become more comfortable as the days have gone on. She can sleep through the night in her kennel but would prefer to cuddle up in bed and be your sweet, playful, goofy, tiny spoon.

She understands the assignment when you take her outside and learned to use the dog door like a pro. Once she settled in, she found her bark, but she is 100x more interested in being with you than going to bark at something. She has been friendly with everyone she met and is experienced on her leash.

She’s been working on her fitness and loves to go on walks! Gemma wants you to know that green beans aren’t as good as wet food or people food, but they aren’t so bad either! She needs to lose another pound or two but more than ½ way to the vet’s suggested weight (15 --> 11.8 lbs so far).

Gemma would be an easy fit into a home or apartment and as a single dog or a sister. She is too sweet to pass up, so apply to meet her today!
