Not all DRoH Dogs are listed on our website. New intake dogs are first presented to approved adopters and often get adopted. We recommend any serious adopter applies to adopt and gets in the DRoH approved adopter queue so they will see the newest dogs as they arrive.
Iris is an amazing young girl who just wants to please. She gets attached very quickly-so be prepared for a new best friend. She does have some separation anxiety. She cries for a little while when we leave the house, but just the short time we have had her she is already improving. She does have quite a bit of energy but she wants to be wherever you are and of course snuggled into your lap. She goes into her crate very well and will sleep throughout the night in there ? she does have the occasional accident in the crate and in the house. But she does understand ?Do you need to go potty?? and will immediately run to the front door-she just needs a little patience and time from her new owner. She absolutely LOVES to go for walks - she walks really well on the leash with her harness on. She has such a cute and graceful prance and with that long slender body she is a head turner. I don?t think I have taken her for a walk without someone wanting to come up and pet her. We ran into a Great Dane and an 8 year old boy on one of our walks and she did excellent. She is currently the daily wrestling mate for our 4yr old Australian Shepherd - they get along amazing. She took a couple of days to warm up to him but now she likes to sneak over and snuggle with him after he falls asleep. She does take a little longer to warm up to men-she is very timid when she first meets a man, she just needs a little bit of time to get to know them and to gain a little bit of trust. She does need a structured scheduled with regular walks and bathroom breaks. She is going to be an amazing addition to a very lucky family. She has so such much love and devotion to give.
