Presley

Rescued 3/28/2011.  Adopted 6/20/2011.  Crossed the Rainbow Bridge 9/14/2017.  Presley was loved from the moment he met his foster mom.  He survived heartworm treatment, but damage from those prior years shortened his life.  Please don't forget your monthly HW preventative.

Linus

Rescued 5/6/2006.  Adopted 6/5/2006.  Rainbow Bridge 9/6/2017.  Linus was born blind, but never knew he was "special needs".  He lived a full life, was a power walker with his mom and is desperately missed.

Manny

Everyone who met Manny was immediately drawn to him. The shelter staff knew he was different and begged Dachshund Rescue of Houston to take him so he wouldn't be put to sleep. Even though he didn't look like a typical dachshund, he made up for it in his calm and shy nature. He loved to sleep next to his foster mom with his head on her lap. Manny passed away suddenly and unexpectedly due to a possible ruptured spleen. His foster mom is heartbroken.

Luigi

Luigi was rescued by Dachshund Rescue of Houston in 2011. Both of his legs were broken and his previous owners felt their only option was to euthanize him. Thankfully, his veterinarian convinced them to let him go to rescue. After receiving treatment for his broken bones, he healed up nicely, and his foster Angie ended up adopting him. In recent weeks, Luigi started losing weight and refusing to eat. After numerous inconclusive tests, Luigi finally succumbed to what appeared to be liver cancer. Rest in peace, sweet Luigi. We know you will be terribly missed.

Tony

I am heartbroken to inform you that our precious little Tony has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge. He has been such a special addition to our family. He was one of a kind. Such a loving little guy with his own “Tony” mischievousness. We were blessed to have Tony for almost 7 years. His vet calculates his age to be at least 15 so he had a good long run and we know his last years he was taken the very best of care and was a very happy dog.  We gave him the best life that we could. We already miss our little man but we wish him fun playful times over the Rainbow Bridge.

Rescued 11/20/10, Adopted 2/27/11, Rainbow Bridge 10/19/17
